Services
Specific services within the Office of Career Services
include the following:
- Listings of employment opportunities for which a student or
graduate may use to directly contact a potential employer.
- Listings of part-time, summer, seasonal, and full-time positions,
as well as internships and cooperative education assignments.
(Note: there are a limited number of on-campus employment opportunities.)
- Career Day Programs for students to explore actual occupations
and opportunities in Business and Industry, Health Sciences, the
Physical, Natural, and Social Sciences, Local, State, and Federal
Government agencies, the Non-Profit Services sector, and opportunities
in advanced education through graduate and/or professional schools
- Individual and group training sessions through seminars and
workshops on job search techniques, hiring trends, resume preparation,
business etiquette, business communications, presentation, and
work ethics.
- Assistance to new graduates and alumni in conducting self-directed
employment searches through use of both traditional and electronic
means - internet access to various electronic job bulletins, state
and federal listings, access to Department of Labor in all states
and specialized web sites are available in the office and online.
- The office computers are online with the Georgia Career Information
Systems, which provides information about specific occupations,
qualifications, salaries, and projected occupational growth for
most occupations in the state. This program also provides valuable
career planning information about advanced education opportunities
within Georgia
