Services

Specific services within the Office of Career Services include the following:

  • Listings of employment opportunities for which a student or graduate may use to directly contact a potential employer.
  • Listings of part-time, summer, seasonal, and full-time positions, as well as internships and cooperative education assignments. (Note: there are a limited number of on-campus employment opportunities.)
  • Career Day Programs for students to explore actual occupations and opportunities in Business and Industry, Health Sciences, the Physical, Natural, and Social Sciences, Local, State, and Federal Government agencies, the Non-Profit Services sector, and opportunities in advanced education through graduate and/or professional schools
  • Individual and group training sessions through seminars and workshops on job search techniques, hiring trends, resume preparation, business etiquette, business communications, presentation, and work ethics.
  • Assistance to new graduates and alumni in conducting self-directed employment searches through use of both traditional and electronic means - internet access to various electronic job bulletins, state and federal listings, access to Department of Labor in all states and specialized web sites are available in the office and online.
  • The office computers are online with the Georgia Career Information Systems, which provides information about specific occupations, qualifications, salaries, and projected occupational growth for most occupations in the state. This program also provides valuable career planning information about advanced education opportunities within Georgia
